Personal tutoring should not
be a luxury.

In Indonesia, the attention a student gets is decided long before the first exam. It is decided by how many other names one teacher has to remember.

~53Mstudents, 300K+ schools

Classrooms, not individuals.

Indonesia runs the world’s fourth-largest education system — more than 53 million students taught by roughly 3.3 million teachers across 300,000 schools. A class of 30–40 students means one pace, one path, and one exam for everyone, no matter where each student actually stands. Those who fall behind stay behind.

The cost shows up in results.

In PISA 2022, Indonesia scored 366 in mathematics, 383 in science, and 359 in reading — against OECD averages of 472, 485, and 476. When teaching must be one-size-fits-all, the students who need help the most are exactly the ones it cannot reach.

And private tutoring is out of reach.

The fix most families reach for — a private tutor — costs Rp 100,000–150,000 per session in Jabodetabek, Rp 400,000–600,000 per week, per subject. For most households in a country where median incomes stay under Rp 5 million a month, that is not a weekly expense. Personal attention stays reserved for the few who can afford it.

    Tell us where you’re headed.

An exam to pass, a skill to build, a topic you’ve always been curious about. Your goal sets the direction. Your time sets the pace.

  2. 02

    Find your starting point.

A short diagnostic finds what you know and where you get stuck. Your plan starts with your actual needs.

  3. 03

    Make a little progress, daily.

Follow focused lessons, practice one question at a time, and revisit tricky concepts until they click.

More than an answer.
A way to understand.

Getting it wrong is part of getting there. Your tutor explains the trap, teaches the rule, and brings it back for practice when you need it.

  • Feedback after every answer
  • Practice shaped around your weak spots
  • Progress measured against your own goal

“Neither of the answers are correct.”

“Answers” is plural, but it isn’t the subject. “Neither” is singular, so the verb needs to be singular, too.

Good morning, Sam. Ready for a quick grammar warm-up before your TOEFL practice?
Yes. I still mix up the subject and the noun closest to the verb.
That’s a useful thing to notice. Let’s try one together: Neither of the answers is correct. “Neither” is the subject, so the verb is singular.

What can I study with Private Guru?

Private Guru is being built as a personal classroom for any learning goal. The English · TOEFL ITP classroom is open now. Mathematics, programming, science, career skills, and custom-goal classrooms are coming soon. Each classroom’s availability is shown above.

How is this different from a regular online classroom?

The classroom is organized around one learner: you. Instead of giving everyone the same assignments and timetable, your AI tutor uses your starting point, goals, and answers to shape your study plan, practice, and feedback.

What happens in my first session?

Your tutor asks about your goal and weekly study time, then runs a short diagnostic. It uses your answers to identify weak spots and build a study plan that gives them extra attention.

How do I track my progress?

Your tutor keeps a record of your goal, diagnostic scores, weak spots, and every graded test. Each session, it compares new results against your history, adjusts your plan, and tells you honestly whether you are on pace for your target.

Can I open a coming-soon classroom?

Not yet. Those cards show the subjects planned for future classrooms. For now, you can enter English · TOEFL ITP and start a conversation with the tutor. Coming-soon classrooms do not enroll you or collect your information.
